What is the best way to make money online?

tagged with

I'm thinking of starting an online business, but don't know which is the best way to make money through the Internet. Ideally I want to make enough money that I don't need a job, so it needs to pay fairly well.

How easy or difficult is it to make money online?

There are lots of ways to make decent money online

How you make money is up to you. The "best" method is subjective, and depends on what you value from an online startup business.

Are you looking for:

  • easy to implement money makers
  • sustainability
  • passive income
  • quick growth
  • eCommerce

An "Easy to implement" money maker would be a blog. They are easy to set up and free to start. Making money from them is as simple as adding Google AdSense ads to each page.

Setting up a blog to make money is easy to do, but getting enough people to visit that blog is not so easy and takes time and effort.

On the other hand, setting up an eCommerce store takes a bit of time and effort, and most likely will cost something to set up too. However, if you do a good job and offer great products you stand to make a lot of money, and grow a large, stable customer base.

You might consider a "quick growth" option that relies on advertising to drive engaged traffic to your website. The downside is that this requires substantial reserves of capital to feed into the business at the start.

Ultimately, in my opinion, the best way to go about building any type of enterprise online is by blogging. Building up decent traffic volumes by creating and sharing great content builds a platform to start converting those readers into customers.
