Consulting explained - tongue in cheek. Humor. Funny.

I often get asked what I do. The answer is really difficult, because I do whatever; depending on what is required. This is often not a satisfactory answer.

So I have two choices. I can go with "writer", which is great... for about twenty seconds. Everyone is super interested in writers. Until they find out that I write technical books on programming, development, marketing and business.

A list of some important characteristics of succesful social influencers

Ever wondered what characteristics make for a great social influencer? If you've been trying to build trust, authority and reach (collectively, influence) for your business then these pictures contain a lot of important lessons for you.

Kindle Fire's sales can't be shown on this Amazon sales graph.

Everyone knows that the Kindle Fire is a popular product on Amazon. Just how popular?

I thought I would track the sales data for 5 leading eReader models, over a range of brands to get a feel for just how much the Kindle Fire actually sells.

What I found is that the sales rank graph provided courtesy of RankTracer - Amazon sales analytics was almost redundant. Not because they weren't able to track the product, but because the sales rank of the Kindle Fire is exclusively 1.

Social sphere of influence is an important factor in determining marketing clout

What would a graphical representation of the "social sphere of influence" for some of the world's most popular social media and Internet marketing personalities look like? Click on this image to expand it and find out.

The problem with most social metrics used to determine reach, authority, or influence online is that there is such a massive disparity in the scale of influence from one person to the next. To give a true representation of the size of people's followings would mean spitting out numbers that simply don't make sense to most people - they're huge.
